T(r)oy's Marbles

redemption

redemption
is more
than
the ransom paid
to free
the slave girl;
it is also
the dowry offered
to betroth
a veiled lover

i am bound
to Another
not by
gray chains,
but with a
gold ring

freed
and free,
i am bound

love
will always
eclipse justice

long comes
the wedding

long for
the night
when the
veil is removed
the marriage consummate
Your face the sun
mine the moon
my face obscured
without Yours ,
a gold ring
bound
freed
naked
free
bound

my Betrothed,
i am Yours
i will yet be Yours
yet
long

Hi Troy,

A few days ago I read this poem on a blog from Silvester in Granada ("Mosaico"). Thta was for me the starting point of googling your name and finding Oasis in Madrid and the site. There I found an Italian sonnet I liked and reacted. Now I read Redemption again and a question keeps puzzling me... where do you think of when reading (or writing ;>) the sentence "love will always
eclipse justice" ? I know, one should never ask the poet what he means,... but this time I dare to do it, because I feel you want to say something - which I think I have to understand. Of course, feel free not to answer this question, that is your right as poet! Greeting from Gouda, Holland.
