Meaghan was doing her homework yesterday after school. One of her assignments was to learn new words through matching them with typical characteristics of various animals.
For example: crafty. "As crafty as a fox."
Or: wise. "As wise as an owl."
One of her new words was "obstinate".
She looked it up in the dictionary. "Obstinate" means "stubborn" she found out.
She asked me, "Is a mule obstinate?"
I said, "Yes. Or you could say 'As obstinate as my daughter.'"
She said, "I am not obstinate! You are."
I said, "I am not obstinate! AND THAT'S FINAL!"
She didn't laugh. Hey, I thought it was funny.
